Mac Mini RAM upgrade

Can i just buy any same specced modules or do they have to be approved ones?

Mac Mini June 2010. Factory installed 2x1GB but would like to install 2x4GB.

Also whilst on the subject, im looking for a 640GB+ 7200RPM 2.5" HDD, biggest i can find is 500GB. Any idea guys and gals?

I used Crucial's website to find out which type of RAM I needed for the specific model (2010 Mini as well) and went with their memory. The hardest part of the installation was twisting the bottom off/on the Mini, putting the RAM in was easy, clicked into place, hey presto, 8GB.

Thanks, Seems its cheaper to buy 2 single 4gb modules than the 2x4 kit :S

like £4 cheaper

HDD replacement is the next task..... oh dear god lol,

It was insanely cheap at the start of year, and they had 10-15% discount vouchers going around too. I paid very little for mine!
