Total noob to macs.
Got hold of a mac mini and a 20" cinema display.

The 20" cinema display does not seem to have a socket for power, it just has the little lead that would fit into the power socket of the mac mini.

A bit of googling and I found an "Apple Cinema Display 20-inch DVI Power Adapter 65 W" which looks like i can plug the screen into. But thats £90. And I dont even know if the screen itself works for me to fork out that much on one.

am i missing something? is there another way to power it up?

The 20" display comes with a power brick. Looks like someone didn't sell you one:( How much did you pay for it? These dispays normally go for about £250 or so last time I checked.

looks like this

Have you checked on ebay for any cheapy chinese bricks? It's a great screen, worth getting working. I've got one:)

Mac mini with 1.5 core solo & 2gb and 20" cinema display for £100.

I found cheap ones for £45, but as i said I'm not even sure the screen is working to fork out on one of them.

may take the risk though.

You shouldn't have to pay £90 for the power brick, they are much cheaper than that.
