Hello all,

Took the plunge the other day and bought a apple mac mini while @ work in Las Vegas, now I'm a newbie to mac but been using pc's for 10 or so years.
Questions really maybe basically simple to most, but (a) I don't have the time to visit a 'Genius @ a mac store' (b) I don't think you have to be a 'Genius' to use a mac :D lol.
So first up is, my mac os x is a US version so can I still change the keyboard region etc so the '@' key is above the shift key not on the number 2 key? (My keyboard is a Logitech di novo, hence the option of Mac mini makes it easy to upgrade from an older system or set it up side-by-side with another computer. Just BYODKM — bring your own display, keyboard, and mouse.)
Second question is, I've installed 'Microsoft Office Mac' all works but I want to keep the icon on the dock (bottom of screen) for a quick start up of the program. I dragged the icons to the dock and 'Entourage' works fine from here, but 'Word' or 'Excel' doesn't.

Any tips appreciated, and many thanks in advance. :D Cheers

Easiest way to keep stuff in the doc is to run the app, right click the icon in the dock then select Keep in Dock. So simple most PC people wouldn't understand! :D

Thanks for the keyboard tips etc, regards to the dock and applications etc I have tried this only 'Entourage' works from the dock. Both 'Word' & 'Excel' don't for some strange reason?

Can you open and use word and excel? Make sure you drag the application ad not a folder. Also, as posted above, open the application e.g. word and right click it.

If it still doesnt work, what error is it gving or what is it doing?

Many thanks for your reply, just as you posted I sussed it and now it's sorted and working fine. Trial and error I guess, lol..... just as I did when learning with pc's :D

Cheers
