I know the various commands for taking screenshots of windows / whole screen / area, but is there a way to take a screenshot of a window without the shadow that Leopard puts on them? Other than using the area select tool and dragging a box around it.

Are you referring to the "cmd+shift+4 ... spacebar" technique?
I don't think there's an option to turn off the shadow on the screenshots.
You could try Skitch?

I thought the OP was pretty clear, yes EVH I want the shadows gone.
