Mac os updating question(s)

At present yes but is there no plans to produce disks? Or even could have asked someone to do a copy until he purchased a licence. Wouldn't have been a problem.

It's not launched yet or even been given a concrete date. The official line so far is no optical media or retail copies. Mac App Store only.

If you want to discuss Lion, may I suggest you search existing threads or open one of your own.

Never wanted to discuss lion it was an option for the op but my knowledge with apple macs are limited it's why I joined in the discussion so I could learn.

My point still stands. It is not an option for the OP without the copy of Snow Leopard he just bought for a bargain £20.

Like Magicboy said, other half wanted to play with iPhone, so I bought the snow leopard for twenty quid, updated from tiger, 1 gig update download.
Everyones happy:D

You actually need 10.6.8 to be able to upgrade to Lion as it included several enhancements to the Mac App Store for this purpose.
