Hi, has anyone had any personal experience with using a mechanical keyboard with Mac OS X 10.9? I have a Mac Mini at the moment and I have tried to get my Ducky DK9087 TKL Cherry Red to work with it, but it acts weird. For example, when I type the letter 'e', it types the letter followed by a space automatically. There was a remapping software I tried which doesn't help. I think it just isn't compatible with Mac OS X.

I currently use that keyboard with my Windows PC with no issues. I'm using the wireless Apple keyboard at the moment, but I would really love to get a mechanical keyboard for it as well, especially one with Cherry MX Blue switches. What I want is advice from anyone who has actually used such keyboards with their Mac, rather than going by specifications online without someone actually testing them, as returning keyboards would be a hassle.

Many thanks in advance.

Most well known one really, with your Cherry Blues! This said, no idea what the issue is with yours, but something keeps being mentioned on various sites about a DIP switch, with some settings being best for Mac compatibility? I know very little about mechanical keyboards aside from the major manufacturers and whatnot, so Google would be your best bet here.

OMG, you are a legend mate. I decided to do some more Googling about Ducky DIP switch settings for Mac. Got it working. Switched Left Alt and Windows Key around so the Windows Key (which functions as the Mac CMD) key is now to the left of my space bar, just like on my Apple keyboard. Turned off switch number 4 which I think controls N-Key Rollover thing.

I think I will fancy buying a Cherry MX Blue keyboard now. Any excuse to get some more gadgets in the house! At least I know I won't have any issues with another Ducky or similar.
