hello,
i'm new to the mac world and i'd really like to know would this version of Mac OS work on a normal home PC with an Amd CPU or not, cause i'd really love to have a pc with both OS Windows and Mac at home???
thanks!!

Very dodgy topic on here mate! I dont know the exact rules but I know that osx is only for apple hardware and attempting to run it on anything else is illegal so thats why not to mention it on here.

yeah i know, but i thought if an apple pc can run now windows and OS X,why couldent and normal windows pc run also the OS X???

Because its illegal and against the T&C of OS X.

There is a very subtle fine line between running XP on a mac and OS X on a pc.

Basically, Microsoft want their software everywhere. Its what they do, make software. As long as you have the correct license you can install it anywhere you want. (Assuming you have the drivers).

Apple on the other hand made OS X to compliment their hardware and only intend it to run on their hardware. Hence in the T&C it specifies you are only allowed to install it on apple hardware.

ive had it installed on my AMD for a while now. it works OK but tbh, it has just persuaded me to get a mac even more. It doesn't function to its full potential on a pc and its very hard to get everything working.

If i was you id just invest into a cheap mac mini :)

To run OS X, you need a mac. End of.

Yes ok the hardware is more expensive than you can get in a PC. But hell, OS X is a kick ass OS and I have and will again spend it on apple hardware.

So, buy a Mac Mini or a Mac Book or something...
