I have a wireless netgear router that my macbook connects to, and i have been trying to connect my xbox 360 to the macbook with a ethernet cable to share the internet connection. However the xbox fails to pass the dns test on live, and no matter what i do i cant seem to get it to ?

Airport Ip Address using DHCP :

ip :192.168.1.2
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.1

Ethernet:
(using ipv4 manual)

ip: 192.168.1.20
subnet 255.255.255.0
router: nothing entered

xbox: all manual
ip : 192.168.1.254
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.20

dns manual:
primary: 192.168.1.1
secondary: 192.168.1.20

Internet sharing is enabled through Ethernet and it still fails the dns test? any ideas would be welcome

I have exactly the same problem, I have googled it too and there is a few tutorials on how to get it working but I still couldn't get mine to work. Seems to be a common problem though. Have a google and let me know if you have any luck.

Tryed the ip of the main router (192.168.1.1) - it cant find the dns. Yup seems to be that way, at the moment im stuck with running it through another comp's windows ics :(
