Mac Pro 2013 memory

Hi all,

I have 2013 Mac Pro with 16GB or ram but want to upgrade to 64. The stuff inside runs at 1866mhz but have seen some 64GB which runs at 1600mhz, will this make a major difference in performance in day to day tasks, mainly photoshop/after effects.

I assume it just won't work, it will either try and run it at 1866 and fail, or just not attempt it.

If you're seeing 1600 'Mac compatible' RAM I'd expect that that is for a 2012 Mac Mini

I noticed someone on macrumors had some that works and the auction site where it is list it works fine :/

I might be wrong then, do they say if the memory runs ok at the higher speed or does it slow it down?

It will slow down, but only if mixed with the higher 1866 which I wont be doing.
