Hey guys, I bought a mew baseline MM M4 unit.

I get my new 4k display tomorrow..and I’m then gonna try crossover to run CS2. Now, if it doesn’t run superbly, would a MP 6,1 with dual D500 run it ok?

I’m not looking for crazy fps, just decently playable..

The D500 (iirc) was essentially a mash of the 7800 and 7950, so i don't see why not if you're Boot Camp'd into Windows. Although you would probably be better off using AMD/third-party/modden GCN drivers rather than what comes with the Boot Camp package.

Although if you're purchasing hardware specifically for this then it does the beg the question, why  Could get a cheapy 'gaming' PC for similar money as a MP6.1 or an iMac Pro.

Yeah, it’s mainly as windows sucks compared to Mac OS..and my spec of pc was ludicrous for 90% cs2.
We are talking gaming though ;):p

If you've got the hardware then give it a whirl but i really wouldn't be purchasing old Intel Mac's for this as it doesn't make any logical sense, especially if you're thinking of running wine-esq type software under MacOS to run Windows based games on what is essentially a PC (Intel Mac) - that's some gymnastics

yeah, I have gone down the route of a Mac mini M4 Pro as the performance seems very capable. so will see how it goes, I will be trying some gaming when my new speakers arrive, hopefully tomorrow.
