Yeeeeeeehaayy!

I ordered my Mac Pro today, much butt squeaking ensued...but finally complete.

The Apple sales rep was crap, totally. Took a while to get sorted.

Now then details are as follows:

Two 3.2GHz Quad Core
2GB RAM
512Mb 8800GT
2xSuperDrive
500GB HDD
Airport Card
Wireless Keyboard/Mighty Mouse.

Just a few things to order now, monitor for one...:p

More memory from over the seas, and perhaps 2 Spinpoints from OcUK.

Biggest EVER computer I have ever ordered, in price and spec!!!!!

I'm gonna be able to surf and email in super quick time now! ;):D

Thanks for posting a thread about it

Give us a hug you crumpy fart! :P

<3

You shall enjoy its beauty. *holy music*

All hail *** big Apple.

let us know how you get on with it too. Switcher from PC I take it?

P.s. Reason I am interested is because I am hovering over the buy button myself (just not sure which to buy yet)

Switcher since 2005 actually, love em to bits. Still cant believe I've ordered it, but I'm sure my worries will quickly go.

I've had iMac's which I've enjoy so much, but I want MORE POOOWWWER. :D

Sold my car so its presented itself as a present to occupy my mind! Have many plans for it!

Is it ack' Ringo, I'll be putting this beast to work straight away!

I have a modest DVD collection, and I have a passion to encode them to play back on my screen, iphone and soon AppleTV.

Yes, I may have done with a 2.8GHz, but as I've sold my car I have the cash?

And when, not if, I come to update I'll retain more value!

Anyway, its all EVH's fault! Blame him. :D

Blogging of course !

We demand a review, pictures and possibly even video of it !

Is that the website I should be blogging on a daily business :D

Of course it'll be reviewed! Will need some help though!

My plan of attack is this.

2x1TB In Raid 1 - Thus allowing my to backup upto 1TB of movies/music - Think I have about 25GB Music & 200GB Movies so with the super quick encoding I think I'll soon start to creep up the GB totals.

500GB I plan to have solely for OSX, and then perhaps finally a 320GB for Vista in Boot Camp.

Also, yes, 8GB will be on order this weekend!

**YummY**

EDIT: Or 1TB Raid 1 with both OSX/Music/Movies & then 500GB for Vista.

All I want Boot Camp for is gaming, games that are not on Mac. I have VMware for any Windows Apps.

It's all up in the air at the moment, but I just want 1TB at least for storage that I know is backed up in Mirrored Raid.

I have a Time Capsule (500GB) which I could sell and then put to to buy the 1TB?

All if, buts & maybes at the moment.

I still haven't even thought what monitor I want, what speakers, what tv card etc...Then obviously more Memory from the US of A.

Madness I tell thee, madnes...

Oh the excitment!

Big day for me tomorrow guys, the whole sh-bang is arriving. Mac Pro - Monitor etc...

Time to get excited & nervous

Getting myself a decent digital camera as well, so expect many-o-pictures to be posted soon.

I wanted tomorrow off work, but it was too later notice to do so. So its a case of straight home, and start on the 'construction'.

CANT WAIT!?!

Very nice setup. :)

What is the monitor?

BenQ FP241VW

WOW, it looks really nice! really pleased for you. So is the machine whisper quiet?

Yes, really really quiet! Didn't think it would be, so very happy.

I still getting my way around it all, formatted 2 times now. I did a Time Machine backup to restore my whole image, but I think its slowed down the OS with crap.

I fancy doing a totally fresh install but then just copy my music/movies/docs.

When I first used the machine with a fresh install it was amazing, now though I can hear the HDD working more? Still fast as hell though!

GBench coming up...
