Mac Pro owners in here please

Hello,

Had my Mac Pro for about a month now and I love it

Only thing I don't like is the hard drive. My god it's noisey, I'm currently downloading a 600mb file and it's beginning to bug me really

Wondered if all Mac pro's were like this? or is it pot luck?

Mine is generally completely silent (can't hear the beast at all!) but when in Windows - it tends to make a crunchy clicking sound every second as it downloads.

<edit>and this happened on my first Mac Pro HDD and the replacement HDD</edit>

Swap it out for a Samsung Spinpoint if you want a quieter drive

Noisy?? Mine is at headheight running F@h 24/7 and its totally silent.

Hmmm not noisy here either, got the stock Hitachi 500GB drive and its really quiet.

Might be a Maxtor drive, I know Apple use them as well, buy a WD 500GB AAKS or Seagate 7200.10 or Samsung Spinpoint.

Cheers guys, I'm taking it apart on saturday to stick the hard drives in it from my old machine so I'll see what make it is then

I'll most likely take it out and put a nice quiet one in
