Im going to take the plunge in buying the MP Soon.

i just wanted to ask is there going to be any speed bump within the next 6 months? like from 2.66 to 2.93 standard yet?
 
They won't bump the base spec, not unless a whole new chip architecture is introduced which involves higher stock speeds.

They usually update Mac Pros around once every 18 months. Check the buyers guide over at Mac Rumors for the date they were updated last and go from there. It might be worth waiting the 6 months IMO :)
