hi,

looking to place my order for an i7 imac refurb on the uk store, but the proc type isnt a standard option if I go to the proper store and config a new imac.

The machine I was looking at is:

Refurbished iMac 27-inch 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

and the new version would be:

2.8GHz Intel Core i5

I assume the refurb title should be i5?

Any ideas?

Thanks

The refurb iMacs are mostly the previous generation, slightly slower DDR3 (like anyone would notice the difference) and ATI 4xxx series cards (instead of 5xxx series). I think both come with i5 and i7 quads. I just bought an i5 one from the refurb store after years of PC ownership and I'm really pleased with it.

If you get a current model machine on the refurb store they're often above base spec. Sometimes a system will even be sold as one spec but in reality be slightly higher, that happened to someone on here.

To be honest when I have viewed the refurb store all they ever seem to have are MBP and to be honest the savings appear very small. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I was very lucky i got a imac 27 2.8ghz i5 ati 5750 1gb brand new unopened for £1.4k. from a well known auction site. and its the uk model. saved £250.00

Any ideas?
