Mac software

I'm tempted to buy a Mac but I'd like to know if there are options to run the following software:

Par 2.0 application
WinRAR
Sony SonicStage (for my mp3 player)
PSP Video 9 (or a PSP video converter)
Usenet programme with NZB support
IsoBuster (to extract ISO/bin files)

Erm, that's about it at the moment!

I'm not to sure at the moment, but you can always use Parallels or Boot Camp and use Windows on your mac to use those specific programs.

I don't use binary newsgroups so I can't really help you with those other ones, other than reccommending that you look at CrossOver - I know uTorrent runs inside it nicely.

That's for one programme though, there's loads of freeware stuff I use on my PC

Check out MacPAR deLuxe and unRarX, both free. There are definatly some progs to convert videos for psp (and ipod etc) and newsgroup software with nzb support (some might not be free though) and iso extractors, do a google (stick osx in with the search query and you'll get mostly mac based stuff). You might have trouble with your sony walkman, I doubt there is an official solution from sony, but there may be work arounds.

You wount need ISOBuster you can mount images straight away with Toast for OSX

Saves so much time!!

Just do a search you should find all the software you will need! If not give boot camp or parallels a try.

I assume you can run the java VM on a mac. If so you should be able to use ninan for binary newsgroup downloads. It integrates nicely with NZB files.

Er....Excel!

There are several spreadsheets available on the Mac platform from NeoOffice if you want an MS Offce equivalent suite but I find Mariner Calc to be excellent and it is lightening fast on an Intel Mac (universal binary).

you can use ISOlator (freeware) instead of IsoBuster

Stuffit
No Idea
iSquint
Unison (or a free version of iGrabNews, but unison is by far worth buying!)
Isos are automatically able to be mounted in OS X.
