As many of my posts start, I was looking out of curiosity at using my Mac Studio as a server initially checking out whether the likes of Unraid could be installed. Of course it can’t but it led me down the road of using Docket and containers on top of MacOS and perhaps connecting storage via Thunderbolt. Has anyone done such a thing such as using their Mac purely for server purposes?

I used to run old XServes and XSans and then moved on to running Mac Minis connected to thunderbolt storage and that still continues in multiple places as far as I'm aware.
Had an old iMac Pro running a Jamf server at one point too in an old work place.
It's not as convenient as it used to be when they had the dedicated Server OS but it's still doable.
