Mac to Windows Remote Access

Hey all,

Soon I will be moving to Canada for a while and during my visit I will still require desktop access to my server which runs Windows 7 (I will be using my MacBook Pro).

I currently use the standard Windows Remote Desktop app on my mac (from Microsoft) to access the server locally - however, I don't think that will work remotely (or correct me if I'm wrong).

So I'm wondering what the best software for the job is? I won't be doing much when I have to have access to the server; just checking up on its status, deleting/moving files around and just general maintenance to keep it online.

Thanks,
Marky

Thanks for the suggestions guys :)

I've seen that recently Microsoft have released remote access software on the iPad/iPhone - After using it I would love to be able to use RDP if possible...

My server has a username and password on it, but any extra security is always best (Not that I have anything that really needs to be secure on it...).

If I was to open up a port and just forward it to 3389 - Would that be secure enough to hide myself from snoopers? :p

Oh I see what you mean - You can use any port you like?

Swarfega you're right, it's just a media server really that I'd like to have access to whilst I'm away from home - I have a long secure password, so that should be fine.
