omgomg - but Mac users are so stupid, they don't even have right click!! I mean, how can you get anything done without right click!?
I switched to OSX because I was so sick of having to be so cautious of everything I did. Yeah, Windows is stable if you look after it, but then so's any operating system. I prefer the OSX interface, I love that I don't have to run adaware every 25 minutes, I LOVE the oodles (that's right, I said oodles) of cool freeware you can get (
macsaber, anyone!? how unnecessary!).
That's not to say it isn't without its annoyances - I HATE that there isn't 1 unified web browsing solution. Firefox (my grudging browser of choice) is so damn slow and unstable, it actually makes me physically angry sometimes. Safari is quite nice, but doesn't have enough features. Camino - Firefox without plugins...why the hell would I want that?! Shiira?! don't even get me started!
Windows, for me, should be for gaming only. You don't get enough control over the OS, it doesn't listen when you implicitly tell it to do something (YES, I want the httpd process to OWN that ****ing folder!) and there are NO decent text-editors for it (as a Mac user, I'm very spoiled! don't even start me on Scite and that crap - I've tried them all, and the only half decent one is e-text editor because it's a port of TextMate!)
However, I love that it's totally skinnable without having to install some crazy, processing-hogging app, and I love how well it works on my Macbook Pro.
I use Ubuntu for work, but only because they won't let me use OSX.
All operating systems have their place, and they all have their annoying zealots that give other users a bad name - but if you can ignore the idiots that use the various hardware/OS (and I can, very easily, actually) then you'll find that none of this crap really actually matters - computers are tools, just like the people who are obsessive enough to care about this crap.
wow, I must be bored
