Well he might want something that works with a Mac AND a Dell laptop.

In answer to your question I dont see why not, but you might have some key map niggles to work out.

Answer: Yes and no...

Yes: You will be able to connect keyboard and mouse via bluetooth and use them.

No: Some windows Bluetooth drivers can be flakey and may not connect automatically on start up, You may not be able to login to windows with it and it will be highly unlikely to work in the BIOS. However as it's a laptop I'm doubting this will be a problem.
