mac wont load up

hi
for some reason after a fresh install my mac mini wont load up. ive left it on all night and it still be's on the grey screen with the apple logo. ive also tried booting into safemode but that didnt work. now i decided ill try doing another install but it wont read the disk even though im holding down the c button. anyone got any suggestions on what it could be????

Couple of things to try:

Hold down Alt and see if it gives you a choice of boot options.

Hold down Apple + Option + P + R to reset the PRAM

While its turned off disconnect all cables and hold down the Power button to reset the PMU

Any joy with those?

just checking for the last one do i take out the power table too

Yep, in fact thats probably the most important (it resets the power management unit)

I know it's not the same machine, but when I had an iBook, I had exactly the same problem - I tried all the solutions but they never loaded and there was no documentation on my problem. I discovered that it was all because the battery wasn't problem in, so could it be something to do with power for your mini?

thanks for all the help. holding down alt worked as it let me select the bootup disk
