thinking of going for a mac laptop in the next month i have a damm good pc which is ace but i am thinking of trying my hand at apple this time! Are there any disadvantges of getting an apple?
 
Disadvantages include:

  • Not very good for games. But then no true laptop is (when people say "gaming laptop" what they really mean is a desktop replacement)
  • They are expensive compared to their PC counterparts
  • If you end up hating OSX its going to cost you a few quid for a copy of Windows

There are many advantages of a Mac, I'm not going to list them all, but the main one for a Windows switcher is "broadening your horizons". And thats not fanboy crap, I think everyone should give different operating systems a try. Linux included.
 
The major disadvantage I can see is "the learning curve".

If you haven't used OS X before it takes a bit of getting used to. Once you're a good hour in though, I suspect you'll be amazed at how it works. For example, installing and uninstalling apps (it gets the windows switchers everytime :p)
