Macbook Air keyboard problem

My gf's old macbook air's keyboard went funny with some keys now producing more than one symbol on keypress. There was no liquid spillage or anything like that.

Only a few keys affected: 67, YU, HJ, NM, Space and Alt. You can see they all are kind of in one diagonal on the keyboard. Wonder if replacing the keyboard will fix it of if the problem is something else.

Has anyone seen anything like that? Any help is appreciated

Had this on a ThinkPad, where columns of keys stop working properly.

Basically the ribbon cables on keyboards control columns so if one goes they all go.

Replacing the keyboard fixed the problem, so well worth doing :)
