Hi all.

As of late my Macbook Air (2011) touchpad has been giving me some trouble. Occasionally it will get 'stuck' and the physical click does not work at all; the trackpad physically will not click down. Tapping the back of the laptop often resolves this, however.

The top half of the trackpad consistantly requires significant force to physically click down, with the very top edge being nigh on impossible to actually click. Edit: after searching, apparently this is normal... I've never noticed it until now!

I am still under Apple's education cover, but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced similar, and whether apple did anything about it.

If there is anyway you can open it up and get between the battery and the underside of the trackpad, you may see some screws.

1 quarter turn to tighten it (plenty of videos on YouTube) cured mine for a few years. Failing that, a few small sheets of paper or cardboard between the trackpad and battery to "push" the trackpad back up sorted it for me when I dropped mine and it became quite terrible!
