thought i could hack the rest of the year with 512MB ram, but the slowness has really been annoying me lately, especially when im browsing sites or wanting to use MS Word.
Im looking for 2 gig of ram to put into my macbook, can anyone recommend the best ram available and best place to get it from.

Thanks.

I'd love to know too, but recommending any retailer other than Overclockers would be against forum rules - shame they don't sell the stuff we need here.

I bought 2 x 1GB ADATA sticks from Hong Kong via an auction site which works perfectly, and has been for the last 3-4 weeks. It cost £87 with delivery and arrived under a week after ordering.

Perhaps OcUK should stock something compatible. :)

cocopops would you mind sending information about where you got your ram from to my email address?

I would if it wasn't against the rules ;)

It's been running fine since day one, didn't even boot up my macbook with the standard 512 :D

The MacBooks will take pretty much anything of the right spec, so just go for the cheapest. If you want guaranteed compatibility, or if you have a Pro, then go for the Kingston.

I paid £112 for 2GB Corsair Value Select memory too. I have yet to actually make much use yet though as my MacBook is on it's way back to Apple because of a hardware fault.

Thanks for the headsup, sloth - just ordered 2Gb.

you will need (for the macbook pro at least) a rediculously small screwdriver.

for memory, you'll be wanting a supplied that OCUK uss who have a hugely popular online shop. should be easy to find on google
