My late 2012 rMBP has been acting up lately, and wondering if any of you might know how to diagnose.
When I take my macbook off the charger, I can use it to about between 60% and 50% of battery life. I'd be mid-use, and the screen will go off. When I try switch it on aagain, it does that red "battery needs charging" animation.
I will then proceed to plug the thing in for a second, and the macbook will power up as per normal, and be back at the level which it switched off and can continue to use it (without the power charger)
I've done numerous battery and hardware tests, to no avail. Does anyone have an idea what could be the matter?
ps: my cycle count is 501 FWIW
