Ok, so I'm ordering my MacBook today. The first thing I'm going to do when it arrives is get my multiboot on the go. I've read somewhere on the web that because of partitioning limitations if I want to install Linux as well as Windows and OSX, then I have to forsake a swap partition.
Now this got me thinking. Is it possible to boot from a USB drive on a MacBook? If yes, is this feature native to the MacBook or is it only possible using bootcamp?
My thinking is that if I created a swap partition on the internal drive I could boot up whatever flavour of linux I decide on from a 2GB thumb drive. This would provide extra flexability and mean that I wouldn't have to muck about with the hard drive every time I wanted to change my distro. Can anyone see any problems with this setup? I've never actually tried to multiboot a mac before so any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

thx.

Not sure if you can do it with a drive so small? To be able to boot from a Mac, your drive has to be partitioned with the GUID scheme, because of EFI. That's all the advice I can give!
