macbook charger problem

My macbook was charging fine last night. When I shut it down the battery was on 100% so I pulled the charger out of the macbook but left it plugged in at the mains.

Today my macbook won't charge, the tiny light on the charger does not come on. I've checked the plug socket and it's fine and I've also replaced the fuse in the plug but with no effect.

I have noticed that the light is flashing orange very faintly on the charger, nowhere near its usual brightness.

I'm guessing and hoping that this is a charger problem not a macbook problem... will it be covered under warrantee?

since august + I have applecare in any case. Problem is I'm at my mum's house for a few days, I need to get uni work done but I don't have my receipt or anything to take into an apple store.

have left it off for about 5 hours and just tried it again but it's definitely gone. grrr! Worst thing is I'm in devon at the moment and the only shop I can access is an 'apple premium reseller' who will have to send the charger off to apple, so I may as well just wait until monday when I can go to a proper store. So annoyed that it's just randomly failed, it doesn't appear damaged in any way externally and it's not been dropped or mistreated.

Looking on the apple store, there's a lot of bad reviews for these things.

Not surprising. Who's going to logon to the Apple Store just to say "I've had my MacBook Pro for 2 years and the charger is still fine"

True, on the other side of the coin, there could be no or very few reviews at all, rather than numerous negative reviews.

Anyway - I went to a Mac store today and we discovered that there's a problem with the charging circuit on the macbook, so I need a new logic board.

However I've just come home, tried it one more time and the bloody thing is charging now! argh. It will probably go wrong again, hopefully after I've my essay in due a week today.
