Lately the charger to my MacBook hasn't been working properly. Sometimes refusing to charge the laptop at all. I have just now noticed that close to the end that plugs into the MacBook the cable looks to have started to melt and look burnt.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there an alternative to the £60 official charger as a replacement?

I think it's about 2 years old so out of warranty now. Will they still replace it free of charge?

They may do, if you ring them up and tell them the problem they may replace it as it should be recognised by them as a manufacturing fault.

That was a great shout mate, phoned up yesterday, they called me back today and are sending a replacement free of charge, thats saved me £60 :D
