As title, can it be done ? officially it says no, but iv read around some forums where people are saying it has been done in a 2x 2gb config, I ask as architecturally core duo can support 4gb and does on old IBM laptops of the same t2500 processor (2ghz), so im asking if there is anyone that can confirm this for me ?

its limited by the EFI i think.

However for sure I put 4GB of ram in my sisters 2007 intel macbook. Only 3.3ish is useable but it works fine.

I havnt heard that it is possible anywhere. Im trying to source a newer model at the moment for that reason. Doing any PS work on the macbook with a 2.0 ghz core duo and 2gb is madness. Looking to get an old 2.4ghz, 4gb ram macbook pro.

Mine is a 2007 model macbook and works with 4gb (2x2gb) I bought from OcUK.
Not sure if this is the same model as above.

It aint.

Core Duo's are 32-bit only, the Core 2 is 64-bit. I've got an original MBP (2006) and it too is limited to 2GB. Slightly irritating that PC laptops on the same core chipset can use 3GB or 4GB...
