I have had my Macbook for about 9 months and its awesome! However last week I turned my Macbook on and it started making unusual noises - sort of sounds like a scratching noise. It then starts up to a gray screen and it's stuck there. There is no mouse pointer and the only thing I can do is turn it off. After hours of trying I managed to get it to start from the OSX disk and run the disk utility but it throws up an error and fails when I try to repair or format the hard drive! At least it is under warranty so hopefully I can get it sorted soon
.
When im at home I keep it on a stand and plug it into an external monitor and connect it to a usb hub to connect the keyboard and mouse.
Am I just unlucky or is the macbook not designed to be used as a desktop for long periods of time?
