Macbook Display Issues

Afternoon all, :)

I recently bought a macbook and I'm absolutely chuffed with it!

My question, or rather my observation is that the display looks a little 'weak'. I've set it to the highest resolution and brightness and colours are set to 'millions' but it still looks a little pale - not as bright or vibrant as I would have expected!

I may be being picky - but looking at the piccys phaser took of his macbook - they look so much brighter!

Is there a tweak tool? Or have I set my preferences incorrectly. I'm using Leopard and its fully updated as of yesterday.

Any help gratefully received!

Tom

You my just be picky :p

There isn't a tweak tool that I am aware of, but try calibrating the screen if you feel it lacks (System Preferences > Displays > Color).

I thought so! (and it wouldnt be the first time!) :)

I'll have a proper look tonight - i just wondered if anybody knew!

Cheers,

MODS feel free to delete unless anybody else has any thoughts!

The screen on the macbook is quite poor, well I found its viewing angles are. I always have to play around with the angle of the screen to get it looking as good as it should.

no the screen does look "weak", your not being picky.... but you do have to live with it :(

I'm satisfied with my MacBook screen, only 2 things I'll grumble about is the viewing angle - colour changes at any angle above around 110degrees (vertically and horizontally) and the glossy screen when I'm using it with strong light / sunlight behind me... kept seeing reflections from behind.

Otherwise, it's pretty good :)

Thanks for the replies guys -

I need to clarify that I'm not in any way disappointed with the screen - its brill!

I do agree that the viewing angle is a bit annoying - but other than that minor issue - the machine is fantastic....

"Weak" is good word to describe it. Viewing angles and especially contrast ratio are poor. I'm picky about displays so it's the one bad thing in an otherwise nice machine.
