MacBook display

Hi all quick question, I have today received my mini display port to Hdmi lead. Plugged in all working but, how do i turn the MacBook pro display off, so its just on the external tv??

Close the lid, so the machine goes to sleep, then wake it up using a keyboard/mouse with the lid closed. Boom, should work.

Also, you could just turn the brightness down..?

Just another thing, is there a way i can close the lid without it all going in to standby??

I'm not sure if this will sleep both displays, but the shortcut to sleep display is ctrl shift eject.

As I said though... it might sleep both I think.

edit: Actually ignore that any keypress or mouse movement wakes it up anyway so it must sleep both, sorry.
