My macbook broke and I have to install OS X again, but I've lost my original install disc.
I've ordered one from apple but it may take up to 28 days to arrive!
There is an install disc set that I can get with the following specs:

MacBook Mac OSX Install Disc 1 & 2
Mac OS Version 10.4.9
AHT Version 3A128
Disc Version 1.0
2Z691-5993-A

I know however that macs are very picky about having EXACTLY the right disc in order for it to work. Does anyone know if the above disc will work with a late 2006 model macbook?
Or does anyone have a late 2006 model macbook install disc that I can borrow for half an hour? I could make it worth your while.
Please help, I desperately need my lappy up and running again!

I tried an Imac cd but it didn't work. It just said, this software cannot be installed on this computer.

Where are you based?

Your trust says Berks... where abouts?

I've got one here you can use if needed.

Thanks a lot mate. I'm not far from you, in Reading. Would it be alright with you if I came to your place and borrowed it for a bit. I wouldn't need to take it away, I could do this install right there and then. Just tell me what you want in return. Beer, wine, spirits?
