I've recently purchased a mini-DVI to VGA adapter for my macbook so I can run a second cable into the back of my Samsung 2433BW monitor.
I'm trying to get the macbook to output full screen 1920x1200 on my monitor but it's just not having it.
The monitor is stubborn and wont tolerate any resolutions other than 1920x1200 and the macbook seems fine mirroring it's native res but nothing higher. I can only get 1920x1200 in extended mode to work, or by mirroring the macbook's native res which creates the pillarboxing effect
I've not been able to find many useful guides on this, so would appreciate any advice offered if anyones had a similar problem.
