Hi all I've been toying with the idea of getting a MacBook for a bit now but the price has been putting me off, I've looked at the refurbs and the prices seem good but so does the Futher Education discount. My sister will be going to Uni to do Teaching in Sep so I'm going to ask her to use her discount for me.

What I'm wondering is can you use a FE discount on a refurb price?

Also can you use FE discounts on custom build MacBooks?

Thanks
Stephen

Thanks for the reply Slogan.

Do you know if The MacBooks can be customized to have Quad Core? I've looked but can't see any options to change the CPU

Thanks

MacBooks don't have quad core, none of the Apple consumer range have Quad Core at the moment.

Upgrades to the CPU would be minimal Mhz bumps. You should be able to upgrade through normal shop methods although refurbs won't be upgradeable in any way.

Again thanks for the info Slogan, one last question i promise. Do you know what motherboard is in the MacBooks? Any chance i can access it to change the CPU myself?

Cheers

Not sure what the motherboard make is, I imagine it's some Intel one.

The CPUs on the MacBooks are soldered onto the board, so they can't be changed.
