hi guys,
over the past few days i have noticd my macbook freezing and taking ages to do anything. I have recently installed iAntivirus and also the new iwork 09 yesterday but this happened once before and before i installed iwork 09.

Has anyone else experienced this and would it be worth doing a re-format?

Yeah, delete the anti-virus (not sure what it's checking for? ;))

I'd also recommend repairing disk permissions (open up disk utility) as that usually fixes minor freezing issues like this.

If you haven't reformatted the drive since you got the machine I'd say it's worth starting over just so you can install what you want, and save some space (drivers for printers take a few GBs)

I managed to get my imac to lock up which was kinda cool. The thing had been up for 84 days without a reboot though. It went into the usual screen-goes-black mode and when i wiggled the mouse to bring it back up, the screen got slightly brighter and nothing. I left it a while before hard rebooting. Must have had some nice memory leak going on.
