Macbook Kernal Panics

Has anyone had their Macbook KP on them? I've pinpointed it to unplugging headphones :confused:

It's happened three times now. Is it a common fault, or just mine? I really don't want to have to send my MB back

I hope it'll be via update soon... unless it's just mine. Could people try unplugging earphones a few times for me please?

No, i think it was sleep related

It's not just you mate - I don't have a MacBook myself (yet) but read about kernel panics caused by unplugging earphones at MacNN

I had this on the first day I bought it, and never since. (MacBook 1.83ghz, using Sennheiser HD 555's).

never had any probs here, with anything (well it moo's a bit) and I've never had the kernal panic on me neither

Basically the same as a BSOD, except OS X just grinds to a halt usually accompanied by the much loved spinning beach ball.

never happened to me, well only when a prog struggles but i just force quit it - what causes this and whats happening?

The main source of a kernel panic is usually a hardware related issue, or the associated low-level drivers used by OS X to access certain hardware devices. Bad memory can be the cause of kernel panics, for example, and it's surprising how often systems can be rendered unstable by having the wrong type of memory installed, or simply by faulty modules.
