Macbook newbie- PERFORMANCE QUESTION

Hi guys,
I havent (yet) got a Macbook but i think i'd like one.
I have one quick question though...
Macs as you know are expensive. What they are worth is debatable and I am neither here nor there with Mac/PC wars because I have not yet owned a Mac. However....
I want a portable music station basically to use Cubase, Reason etc and possibly other music production programs. But essentially, JUST those two.

I am looking at the book vs book pro. The only difference as far as i can see is RAM- 2gb in the book vs 4gb in the Pro.
Now they both have 13" LED screens (i want the 13" version for portability)
they both have core2duo 2.4ghz chips
they both run OS X snow leopard
the book is ugly and plasticky and white and the pro is beautiful and sleek and aluminium. (my opinion anyway)
BUT
the book is almost £800 and the pro is very nearly £900.
My question is: is it worth £110 for the extra 2gb of ram and otherwise nicer aesthetics, ooh plus card reader, seperate audio in/out (useful for me) and not much else... or am i missing something and the pro is still acres better than the book?
and if i put another 2gb RAM into the book, will it perform the same as the Pro?
Because a 2gb stick is about £30-50 so i find, and that would save me about £70 overall and is it worth it.
have you got any ideas guys? It would make me so happy if anyone can give me any advice here or there to put me straight. i dont have a lot of cash and cant even afford this mac yet but i am prepared to work hard for it if i (and you) think it's worth it.
Can you give me a hand?
Thankyou.

With the same amount of RAM they will be the same speed. The 13 inch pro doesn't have separate audio in/out. The 15 does. The pro does have a backlit keyboard which would be useful in low light situations.

I think the pro is much nicer looking.

There isn't a massive difference between them. Put the same RAM in (don't buy from Apple, way cheaper elsewhere) and they will perform the same. Both easy to upgrade RAM and HD if required.
As stated, neither have separate in and out for audio. The Pro has FW800 and an SD Card slot but otherwise the same.
Both are great machines, and I think they both look good (I own a pro and regularly use a normal).

The white Macbook unibody is nice, and the pro is silver plastic. If it was metal it would be better, but imo I don't think the extras warrant the extra cost over the Macbook if you only want it for the reasons stated.
