Macbook not recognising SD card reader

[slothmeister]

Hi guys,

Bit of an odd one, i recently got a new camera which uses SD cards, my previous one used Compact Flash. So i took a few pics and loaded the SD card into my reader, this is the same reader that i previously used for the compact flash cards.

This card is not being recognised on the computer, tried a different card, still the same issue. The reader as far as i can tell is being found within system profiler.

Any ideas what could be causing the issue?

How big is the SD card? Your card reader might have trouble with SDHC formatting.

it's an 8GB card, you might have hit the nail on the head, I really should have tried a smaller card i guess.
