wasssup people,

im thinking of getting a macbook or macbook pro next week.. wasnt sure if it worth me getting the pro, to be honest ill be using it mainly to surf, to watch movies and play 1 game, WOW. Is it worth sticking to the macbook because im only going to play WOW nothing else to be honest or should i get the pro?

Appreciate the replies.

Thanks:D

Macbooks use an Intel integrated graphics card whereas AFAIK, the Pro's use an X1600.

When I used to play WoW on my old 1.83Ghz Pro with an 128Mb X1600, it was fine with most details med-high at 1440x900. But it only had 512mb RAM which hindered the loading a lot.

Depending on what kind of detail level you want for WoW, that will be the deciding factor i think since both machines can handle everything else just fine.

The Pros have been on 8600GT M since June. But yes, the MacBooks have integrated GFX cards.

I would go with a Pro if you want to play WOW, but remember Macs aren't made to be used with games.

Ah, I thought it might have changed since I bought mine :D

Depends, can you afford to pay the extra £?

If so, get the MBP, but it gets very hot.

The Macbook has a Intel GMA X3100, which should be able to run WoW.

I thought WoW ran natively on Mac OS X. Dunno if the performance is the same as running it through bootcamp or whatever though. I can't imagine it'd be that demanding on the X3100, but you'll be happy with either the MB or MBP.

Yeah youd save quite a bit by choosing the macbook, you could also upgrade the ram on it (buy 3rd party, its way cheaper).
Ultimately depends on how much you have to spend.

The Pro as ppl have mentioned have an actual graphics card so if you intend to do any sort of gaming or graphics intensive program go with the pro.
If you don't, save the money and get the macbook.

If you just wanna play WoW then the macbook is ideal. Although the integrated intel graphics card isn't the best when it comes to games, it seems to cope with WoW fine. The WoW installation disks are hybrid windows/mac so install natively on either operating system.

Also I think the cooling is better on the macbooks.

Basically the only main advantages i can see that the pro has are better graphics cards and bigger screens.

I've got the latest macbook pro and it runs wow a treat 1440x900 60fps+ is most area's. I upgraded to 4 gig of ram as well. I also have vista installed on bootcamp and it's brilliant been playing COD4. I can't recommend the macbook pro highly enough, although it does get rather warm.

Whats the spec of your macbook pro? (is it the 512 or 256 mb graphics card?)
