I need one to run logic, cos that'd what we use at Uni. I just can't make up my mind what to go for, so I'll leave it up to you guys to help me decide.
thx.

I can go to about a grand.
On one hand a laptop would be good cos it's really portable and has a battery.
But on the other hand, the Mini is tiny and I already have a compact LCD and audio interface (Tascam US-428), so I could potentially put together a bespoke portable system. It would need power tho.
Decisions decisions.
I guess what I'm asking is, what would you go for?

For some basic editing and mixing in Logic I reckon you'd get away with the Macbook.

Why not go for the Macbook Pro with Education Discount.. should be under a grand easy :) - Check Mac Sticky for prices.

If you can budget upto a grand then go for the MacBook. Personally I would solely for the C2D.

I'm typing this on my MB and I've fallen in love :)

I had the same choice and went for the MacBook. You can run them in closed-lid mode with an external LCD, etc, just as you would a mini, and it's obviously a laptop for when that suits, too. :)
