Macbook Original Parts

Hey guys! I'm not a real expert when it comes to apple products, that's why i wanted to know if you made any experience with buying fake spare parts for your Macbooks, like the battery, charger,...they are a lot cheaper, do I have to watch out?

Yes. Knock off batteries for any laptops are almost always complete crap and knock off chargers are quite good at setting fire to themselves or killing batteries.

Haha, is it really that bad? I mean, I have read so many conflicting statements now. Some say it's a great way to save money, some say it will destroy your devices or won't pay off at all...

I wouldn't do it. Why risk an expensive device for the sake of a few quid for an official charger. I won't even use third party cables on my iPhone.

The new 12" macbook is different. Unlike other macbooks, it charges over standard usb-c connector and therefore 3rd party chargers can be legit and good. If you get a good 3rd party charger/cable for that, you should be fine. However, finding a good one is not necessary easy task for people unknowing of electronics. Do your background research!

Other mac laptops are problematic, because only manufacturers that don't care about licensing can manufacture those, as apple doesn't sell licenses for magsafe(2).
