I've been a PC user my whole life but after using my friends Mac i just couldn't say no to one of the new 13-inch MacBook Pro's.

There seems to be lots of discussion on XP vs Vista on boot camp. I am a product design so will be using the laptop for Adobe suite, SolidWorks and rendering software. So i was hoping to use windows 64 bit either way to get the most out of it.

Which will be the best to use on a new 13" MBP with 2.5GHz 4GB ram?

Yeah, Vista 64 will also have better support.

XP64 is a bag of hurt, so you may find drivers hard to come by :)

All the Operating Systems (OS) run natively, in other words the performance is not hindered by emulation.

Think of it as a PC when running Windows.. which would you prefer, XP or Vista? Bare in mind running in 32-bit will limit you to 3GB of RAM so future upgrades would be pointless.

You could also go with Windows 7 RC if you're that way inclined... A free OS for a few months isn't bad and then you could just get the official release when it's out :)

True. :) Why don't you give Windows 7 a chance first? If you find it buggy or slow then it's not as if you've lost anything. :)
