Macbook Pro 15" shipped with lithium ion battery...

Yet Apple boast about the Macbook Pro featuring a Lithium Polymer battery.

Anyone else with a MBP here got ion instead of polymer? It'll say on the inside face of the battery if you remove it (which, as I just found out, you can do while your MBP running so long as your mag safe charger is connected).

P.S. I ordered my Macbook Pro back on July 29th and got it on August 14th, only recently removed the battery through curiosity and noticed it was ion.

I've just checked mine, its also a 15" MacBook Pro and its got an ion battery

So whats the difference?

well according to a very quick google you can get a lithium ion polymer battery so I would assume thats whats being used

Lithium Polymer is a slight advance in technology over the original lithium ion, although it is likely that it in this case, they mean the same thing, as the full name is a Lithium Ion Polymer Battery.

Is a pre santa rosa one though.
