I'm contemplating doing away with my Desktop and my Laptop and replacing them with a MacBook Pro. The main thing really making me ummm and err over this is the rubbish GFX cards in them. I'd have no problem paying that money for one if it had a half decent card. I currently run an Opty165 + X1900XT + 2gig.

I think I read somewhere that Apple may be putting a better cards in the Pros this year. Is this true? Where did you find the story? If I went for one it'd have to be the 17" model, but I have considered getting a smaller one (if it had a better GFX card) and plugging it into a big flat screen.
 
why dont you buy a xbox360 for all your gaming fun over the next few years and buy a macbook. mac does everything really apart from games...!
 
Any truth in the GFX updates rumours?

The reason for this is moving house, into a much nicer place but less room in my bedroom. My current setup is all on a proper desk, Laptop + Desktop. The potential new room doesn't have enough room to put that desk in so would have to be slimmed down a lot.

But then again it's as a really nice lounge so I could tinker around down there. :/ not the same as in your own room though eh? ;)
 
They are changing the back lighting from cold cathode to LEDs so in theory brighter displays and better battery life.
