MacBook Pro - 2gb to 4gb

Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone has made the same upgrade. I have an old-ish MBP (2.16GHz) which is currently using 2gb sticks. Thing is the sticks aren't dual-channelled and likely as different as apples and oranges. (one from Apple, the other being a cheapo from the Bay).

Considering that, would it make sense to go for a 2x2gb channelled kit? The laptop runs everything I want decently well but I always seem to want a bit more grunt. I know I won't get the full 4gb usage (limit is 3gb) but just after thoughts.

I think the limitation of 3gb is hardware related on this model of MacBook Pro though. The ones immediately after boasted 4gb ram capability.

My question is more whether dual channelling the memory and that extra gig (the third) would be enough to see a decent performance increase. It surprisingly runs programs pretty well but as I say, just needs a bit more bite that I think it's capable of.
 
I bought a pack of 'jewellers screwdrivers' from the bay and one of those did the trick for my 1 > 2gb upgrade.

Reading up on the net, I've heard three different screwdriver sizes mentioned (#0, #00, #000)
