Hey, just wondering whether this ram would work in my MacBook Pro?

Crucial : CT687594 DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64

Its only £65 for 2 x 2gb :D

I use vmware a lot, so i'm hoping this will give me the boost i need!

Cheers,

MonkieMann

cool, i presume it will be as good if not better than the standard ram apple put in?

i have been trying to run a vm of Vista, and its not liking only having 512mb of ram, lol

cheers

Remember to seat it FIRMLY.

Failure to seat it properly will lead to all sorts.

Use "Apple > About this Mac" to show you the amount is correctly fitted :)

woot, my ram is here! at work at the moment tho, so i'll install it when i get back, couple of questions first though ...

a) how hard it is to upgrade the ram in a MBP?
b) do i need to do anything before i install it?
c) it is a user upgradable part right? i thought it was, but i can't find anything on the apple site that says it is? :S

cheers,

monkie

EDIT, don't worry about points a & c, just found this:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303491

that'll teach me to look better in the future! :)

anyone had any problems upgrading?
I got some for my MBP 17" and sometimes keep getting an error to restart them machine?!
Not sure if its the memory or a program im running, but only did a recent clean install of MAC OSX.

Double/triple check the RAM is seated properly. Try removing and re-fitting. If its slightly wrong it will cause all kinds of hassle.
