Hello,
After following some guides online I have 'successfully' upgraded my Macbook Pro from a 128Gb SSD to a 1Tb SSD.
However, I appear to have created an issue with the battery. Initially, after restarting the machine I lost all connection to the battery. The only way the device would switch on is through mains power and nothing else. I narrowed what I thought was the issue down to a cable I may have damaged, specifically a 'Battery Daughter Board Flex Cable'.
I ordered a new one and this arrived today. After fixing the new cable I now have a battery icon on my Mac which is progress, however the device does not charge the battery and so although it is there, it is receiving no power from it. In the system report it is showing the battery as connected but it states it is not charging. I have left it for a couple of hours no with no change to the status.
I have tried various SMC and PRAM resets and these don't appear to have done anything. I wondered if there was any advice people could give me?
If there are no other things I can try then I have it booked in with an Apple authorised repairer. I fear the bill I am going to receive for rectifying it through them though!
