So I was looking for some advice on what to do.

Basically I've got an early 2011 13" MBP with a 750Gb HDD and 4GB Ram.
I managed to crack the screen on it a month or so ago but this looks to be only the glass and the LCD seems to be fine.
I've been quoted £110 for someone to replace the screen for me but wouldn't mind also adding an SSD to the system (replacing the disc drive) and upgrading my RAM whilst I'm at it. It also looks like my battery is on the way out too.

My issue is that the cost of doing these upgrades/fixes will probably be pretty substantial for a laptop that is now 6 years old.

Am I best considering a new MBP or would you personally go the fix/upgrade route.
Also, if you could recommend specific RAM/SSDs/Batteries that would be great.

Thanks

Have you seen the prices of the MBP now? Putting in an SSD and more RAM will make an *enormous* difference in the speed of the laptop. You're probably talking £400 tops, vs spending £1500+ on a new laptop. Plus if you don't fix the screen, you won't be able to sell the old one for more than £50, so if you need to fix the screen anyway...
