Macbook Pro and BT Home Hub

Hi there,

Has anyone here got any experience using a Macbook Pro with the BT Home hub?

It connects fine then shows up saying "no internet access".

All other Laptops and a netbook connect fine until the Macbook connects.

Any way to sort this?

Would a wireless access point connected to the homehub work?

Perhaps try a different Wifi security encryption, seems odd that it kicks everything else off. My homehub doesn't do this.

Running my MBP off my homehub 2.0. tried going into advanced and changing the channel the wifi is running off? to like 6 or 7 instead of 1 or 11

got homehub v3 and no problems here - strange it kicks everyone else off.

Try a different router if possible?

Its in student accommodation don't know if they will like me changing their router

Ive changed the channel from 1 (a lot of routers in the area were 1) to 4 now to see if that works.

Might just try those network plugs!

EDIT: also think this is the original homehub. Smallish grey box with metal grating on the side.

that's an old homehub that has issues with some security...plus double-check all the details are correct, though I'm assuming they are...

Try getting them to change the encryption type and see if that helps

and finally..someone has got to say it...serves you right for having a macbook! Lol
